The small reserve is so named because for many years the childrens playground consisted of little more than a tinny. In the early 2000s the Onetangi Residents Association, in conjunction with Auckland city, raised funds for an upgrade of the playground. For historical reasons the modern playground is designed in the shape of a boat.&lt;br /&gt;
