Tim Moroney was for some years in the late 1990s and early 2000s Waiheke's police sergeant. During the time Tim was in charge crime rates fell dramatically on Waiheke. He quit the force to take over The Village Butchery, which he then on-sold. He still runs a funeral service on the island.
