The sixth such annual event run by the The Waiheke Winegrowers Association was set to be held on Saturday February 2, 2008 at Isola Estate. However, in late September 2007 the association cancelled the event. President Chris Canning told Gulf News it had become a victim of its own success and had grown too big to be run on a voluntary basis.
Crowds of up to 4000 had attended previous events.
Plans are still alive for a festival in 2009.
