Waiheke Island Choral Society
The Waiheke Island Choral Society is one of four amateur vocal groups on Waiheke Island (the others being Sister Shout, Sing Waiheke and V12). The Society performs a wide variety of classical and popular choral music. Typical concerts and shows (from 2006-2007):
- Mozart, Vespers (K.339), August 2006
- Gilbert & Sullivan, Iolanthe, November 2006
- Rodgers & Hammerstein, The King and I, August-September 2007
- Last Panto in Little Oneroa / Puss in Boots 2008
- Production: Peter Pan coming in May 2009 at Artworks Theatre
- Concert: Six Degrees of Separation coming in mid-2009
Choir rehearsals are normally at 7:30pm every Tuesday at Whittaker's Musical Experience in Artworks. Anyone interested in singing is welcome to join.
A recording of the Waiheke Choral Society and Waiheke choir Sister Shout performing Handel's Messiah was made by Waiheke Radio in December 2008.
