Doreen Burns is an iconic islander, recognised for her community spirit and leadership. Doreen's husband, the late Bob Burns, was a high profile businessman on the island for many years. Doreen has long been the figurehead for community involvement on the island, exemplified by her patronage of Care and Craft.
Doreen was a finalist in The Aucklander's Aucklander of the Year in the early 2000s.
