Hi Chris, Welcome to Waihekepedia. Thanks for your stuff on the events page. Would you mind now going to Special Pages, clicking on your user name and putting some stuff up about yourself. Not much, not deep. Just so we don;t have total anonymity. cheers Hackademic (Greg)

Chris: Welcome... you can also just login and click on your username above (next to the little green guy icon) to edit your user page. Also if you're commenting in discussion pages like this, use four tildes like, ~~~~ or use the signature button on the toolbar to sign and date discussions. That way we know by who and when discussions take place. Countrymike 12:22, 5 September 2007 (NZST)

HIya Chris - ok I have investigated our MP3 stuff and have discovered the best way to do it - instruction have now been updated on the Extensions page and you should have no trouble uploading and displaying mp3 files through the embedded Flash player - have fun Cheers Bruced 16:55, 30 October 2007 (NZDT)

thanks bruce but...

Thanks Bruce. Could you recommend a site to set up mp3's for uploading from? Chris ps Could you also recommend how I might put a RSS feed on my Chocolate Fish website (to let punters know about new downloads).? Would you care to have a look at the site m8? It's at http://www.chocfish.co.nz. We're hasving real probs. getting it listed anywhere near the front of the Google Search engines etc. Any advice appreciated.

The problem with your site being listed on Google is probably due to the fact that the entire thing is made in Flash ... at this point I'd guess that a Waihekepedia page dedicated to Chocolate Fish is more likely to come up in a Google search than your real site. As far as Google or most search engines for that matter know, your site is just a wee bit of HTML plus an embedded Flash file, which it can't read -- so for all intents and purposes it may not even know that Chocolate Fish (the words) exist on the page, even though you do have them in your meta keyword tags (which most of them ignore anyways)... as far as a search engine is concerned this page right here probably mentions the words chocolate fish more than your web site currently does. I'll introduce myself to you on the ferry one of these days and explain a bit more... Countrymike 23:17, 31 October 2007 (NZDT)

Still can't figue this out Bruce. I added <flashmp3>mp3url.mp3</flashmp3> to the content but how does this upload my song?? Do you have a siye from which I could download my song as an mp3?

See: http://www.waihekepedia.com/index.php?title=Extensions#MP3_Files . Basically you'll need to upload the file into Waihekepedia first, using the Upload File link on the left here, under the toolbox heading. Countrymike 16:01, 5 November 2007 (NZDT)

Hi Chris,

This is Chris Watson, from Melbourne. I knew you in Christchurch a long time ago. If you're interested in catching up, please e-mail me on: chris@zapwhizz.com. By the way, A great way to get better Google rankings is with a 'blog! If you set up a simple WordPress blog on chocfish, and put a couple of blog posts a week (or more), making sure they are relevant (Google is pretty smart, don't try and trick it, just keep them on-topic, ie. your music and band, and Google will sort out the rest.) WordPress 'pings' the necessary servers when you update content, and because 'blogs are popular you pretty soon start showing up in search engine results.

By the way, the bookings form on your web site is missing its opening <form> tag, so when you click submit, nothing happens...

Hope to catch up,
