M. N. Subritzky arriving at Kennedy Point

M.N Subritzky The dedicated freight vessel the M. N. Subritzky carries consolidated freight to Waiheke Island. She was built out of two dun barges, a bridge added and two engines to power her along. Subritzky Shipping later added a third engine. As freight, fuel and stock are carried on this vessel, the journey takes longer than Sealink’s primary passenger services. A limited number of special FreightLink fares are available for cars and passengers on these sailings. (source Sealink Website)

On 6th August Sealink announced the return of the rebuilt vessel Seamaster. The vessel, previously known as the M. N. Subritzky returned to service on Saturday 11th August. The FreightLink-branded vessel returned after six weeks with a new streamlined hull resulting in a sleeker, more fuel-efficient ship. A new ramp with lifting gear has also been fitted and mufflers have been installed, resulting in a more comfortable experience for customers.

The construction of the new 32.6 metre hull section was carried out by Whangarei Engineering
