Sealink

SeaLink, one of New Zealand’s largest privately-owned ferry companies, started out as Subritzky Shipping in Auckland in 1960. Since then the company has provided essential services in the Hauraki Gulf.

In September 2004, the company was acquired by Kangaroo Island SeaLink, a leading South Australian tourism company. The company moved into tourism in September 2005 with the launch of a comprehensive holiday programme for Waiheke and Great Barrier islands. In December 2005 the company was re-branded as SeaLink. This strategy was designed to align the company with its Australian owners; to capitalize on the reputation of the SeaLink name and to maximize the results of the company’s international marketing programme.

In addition to its passenger and tourism operations, SeaLink provides vehicle transport and freight services to Rangitoto, Motutapu, Rakino, Motuihe and Kawau islands.

SeaLink achieved Qualmark accreditation in 2005, demonstrating the company's commitment to providing quality services.
