Waiheke Weedbusters is a community group devoted to ridding the island of noxious weeds. Their mascot is "Woody Weed".

In their "Weed of Death" campaign, the Weedbusters urged Waihekians to adopt roadside veges, and organised working bees to remove weeds from local reserves.

Co-ordinator Jenness Reeve says that Waiheke is the second weediest island in the world.

The Auckland City Council, Auckland Regional Council, Department of Conservation, Royal Forest & Bird Society, and Weedfree Waiheke all support Weedbusters.
