The sign on the front of the store reads:

1950 - 1980 Merv & Betty Crocker worked here. Merv was a member of the NZ armed forces from 1940 - 1945 Merv and Betty Crocker served the Waiheke community from this site from 1950 to 1980 by building and running a general store nicknamed the "one stop shop". Jim Morris took over the store in 1980 before selling it to Kevin and Paddy Martin. Kevin and Paddy sold the store to Ken and Jan Habisham. The store was then bought by Steve Schicker and Doon Waite who owned the store from 1989 - 1990. Crocker's (or should it be 'Crockers', as was owned by two people...?)store then came once again into the ownership of the Habishams who sold to the Coopers.
