The Waiheke Island Historical Society is dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of relics of Waiheke's past. The Society's activities include:
- Operation of the Waiheke Island Historic Village and Museum
- Maintenance of archives documenting the island's past
- Publication of books and videos on Waiheke history
- Sponsoring activities designed to raise awareness and appreciation of island history
Membership is open to all at $10 per annum. Monthly meetings are held at the Museum, 169 Onetangi Straight, usually on the first Monday evening of the month. The Society's website is at http://www.waihekemuseum.org.nz.
