Jacqui Barrington was a much admired conservation who lived on Waiheke. A memorial is dedicated to her in the Okahuiti Estuary, established by the Friends of the Okahuiti Wetlands. Among many other things, Jacqui, formerly Forest and Bird's former northern field officer, was resonsible for initiating a Kukupa public awareness campaign.
