Upcoming Events on Waiheke Island:

June

  • Sa21Jun: Kanikani for Kam Trang World Dance Fundraising Extravaganza. A celebration of world music and dance, including Polynesian Gypsy, Indian, Middle-Eastern, Indonesian and Latin dance, French-inspired Ceroc, Scottish Sword dance and Ballet. • Fr27Jun 7pm & Sa28Jun 2pm & 7pm: Waiheke Choral Society's Last Panto at Little Oneroa: In December 2005, the Choral Society produced one of its most popular shows, Last Tango in Little Oneroa (also based on a David Tristram play), about a moribund drama society that resorts to bizarre and hilarious measures to restore its lost glory. Now our heroes are back again — and in trouble again — so they come up with a plan for a blockbuster pantomime. But with a questionable plot, a passel of irritable actors and a herd of wild kids, can disaster (and hilarity) be far away? Come find out... @ Artworks Community Theatre
  • Su29Jun: Chanson: The play begins with Linn, a young French language scholar, travelling to Paris to study. There she finds fashion, fun, trouble, and a French soul. Ultimately, through an intense identification with Edith Piaf, she discovers her future as a cabaret chanteuse. Chanson includes a mix of original and well-known songs in both French and English with piano, bass and piano accordion. It is a warm, light-hearted show, full of snappy, jazzy, well-crafted music with sublime three-part harmonies, and features Anna Rugis, Linn Lorkin and Hershal Hersher. @ Artworks Community Theatre
