Current chairman of the Auckland Regional Council, Mike Lee has been an island resident for many years, and was formerly chairman of the Omiha Welfare and Recreation Society for many years.
Mike was first elected to the Auckland Regional Council by winning a by-election in early 1992. He was Chairman of the Parks Committee from 1992 to 1995, and was involved in the acquisition of Whakanewha Regional Park.
A committed conservationist, Mike led the pest-eradication programme on Koi Island. His property at Rocky Bay is listed on the Waiheke Wealth Map.
