A regular sight on the island's roads in the early morning, Scott has won major New Zealand races, including the island's Wharf to Wharf Fun Run and the Rotorua Marathon. In 2006 he won the Auckland Half-Marathon.
Scott was a reporter on Gulf News from 2007 to 2009.
His personal best for a marathon was at the London marathon in 2005 when he ran the gruelling distance in 2hrs 17mins 01secs.
