Waiheke High School grew out of the Waiheke Area School and is situated in Surfdale at 11 Donald Bruce Road. These days it caters for students from Year 7 to Year 13. Its current principal is Neil Watson. Waiheke High School teaches a range of subjects, including languages and various options. It has a school uniform introduced in the early 2000s after long and often bitter debates.
The school roll is 453, and it has a decile of 4.
Waiheke High School has an International Student Programme.
One of the school's points of differences is it's seasports academy.
