The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT) is the Trust that runs the Auckland based Westpac Rescue Helicopter. Waiheke residents are frequent users of the rescue helicopter service. In January 2007 alone there were 22 missions to Waiheke Island. The Helicopter is a BK117 (Bolkov Kawasaki 117). The travelling time from the ARHT base at Mechanics Bay to Waiheke is 9 minutes.
