Clean Stream Waiheke has been responsible for the waste management on Waiheke Island for the last 10 years. Clean Stream managed the kerbsite refuse and recycling collection to all residents on Waiheke as well as managing the Waiheke Transfer Station.
In a controversial decision in June 2009 the Aaron Bhatnagar chaired City Development Committee voted to disqualify Clean Stream from the tender process ending a 13 year contribution to Waiheke waste reduction.
