Originally from South Africa, Alex Stone moved to New Zealand and then Waiheke in the mid-1990s. A conceptual artist and poet, Alex lives in Palm Beach. He is also known for his performance poetry and acting.
He spent one term as chairman of the Waiheke High School board of trustees, during the tenure of principal Anne Willmann.
He is also the artist behind The Handsome Project, a long-term collaborative photographic art project.
