The Waiheke Island Jazz Festival was held on the island every year from 1992 to 2007. It was directed by pianist and jazz personality David Paquette, who still calls the island home. Among the top musicians brought to the island were Charmaine Neville, Lillian Boutte and the Paris Swing Orchestra.
