Surfdale Beach
Revision as of 08:53, 7 October 2014 by Wolfgang Fahl (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "Google Maps location of (.*)\<googlemap(.*)lat="(.*)" lon="(.*)" zoom="(.*)" width="(.*)" height="(.*)" type="(.*)"\>(.*)\<.googlemap\>" to "Maps location of $1 {{map|lat=$3|lon=$4|zoom=$5|width=$6|height=$7|type=$8|title=$9}}")
Surfdale Beach is on the southern side of the island. While mostly accessed from the bottom of Lannan Road or Blake Street, a track also leads from the end of Hooks Lane to one the western, less-used part of the beach. Good swimming but only at the upper end of the tide.
The point to the right of the beach had a wharf on it for many years where the Baroona berthed from Auckland.
Surfdale Beach is one of the Windsurfing spots on Waiheke Island
