Katy Soljak is a singer-songwriter whose music is informed by her 10 years in Los Angeles and who now lives on Waiheke Island. In LA she worked with many musos, including Tom Waits' drummer Steven Hodges and Paul Barrere from Little Feat.

"Influenced by the poets of Los Angeles, she writes in a poetic way and includes some spoken word sections in her work." - Amplifer.co.nz

Among Katy's original work is Anzac Dawn, a song written in commemoration of Anzac Day.

Old Wooden Radio is a song about her father.

She has recorded with acclaimed jazz musician Joel Haines and blues virtuoso Shayne Wills, fomerly of Waiheke.

In 2007 Gala Records released her second CD Morning Rain Blues, recorded at MTW studios on Waiheke and featuring island musicians Mano Pratt on guitar and Nic Stevens from Cornerstone Roots on keyboards.
