At the end of the article you make a (throw away) comment about the quality of the island schools. What do you base this criticism on? What do you perceive to be the problems at the local schools? Counting The Beat

Perhaps the problem is "school" in general, see: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Ivan_Illich:_Deschooling_Society ... and that "sustaining" school as we know it on Waiheke is not really economically scaleable or desirable.
