Talk:Waiheke Fun Map
so does that mean that you consider publishing parts of the map ok? I've been reading the copyright policy on the library page and it would seem that we need to ask them, or at least reference the original digital source. We should also be putting copyright notice on the upload page, otherwise the CC-By-SA will kick in by default. Countrymike 09:41, 18 December 2008 (NZDT)
User:Wolfgang Fahl The pictures of the parts are not reproduced from the libraries image. I have taken a photo at the Waiheke Island Historic Village here. So the permissions we might need are from the Historic Society - I got the permission to take the photos there at least and I asked them to get in touch with me via e-mail for supplying material for Waihekepedia in general. And as outlined we might need permission from the heirs of the original authors if there are any available to talk to - yes even for parts of the poster.
I've called the only person in the Waiheke phone book called Ingham and she said she's not a relative of the Gordon Ingham. There is no Wrathall in the phone book and in the Wrathall ancestor list on the internet i have found there is no mention of a Stopford. Diane from Gulf News has offered help - in one of their articles this year Gordon Ingham is mentioned as having been the editor of the Resident at one time. Diane also said that quite a few people ask for that fun map and it might well be nice to be able to reprint it at some time - so our issue of publishing a small excerpt here might be the smaller one compared to trying the reprint (in which the current copyright holders - if any - might actually be interested because it might promise an amount of income worth talking about).
- Good effort, and now on record. Thanks for clarification. Countrymike 14:10, 20 December 2008 (NZDT)
