* Fr20Nov 7pm: Celebration@Artworks: As some people may have already seen, our Community Theatre at Artworks has some rather nice new chairs. Gone are those old, green plastic BBQ chairs — replaced by 120 brand-new padded seats covered in a very fetching dark red fabric. The arrival of the seats marks the end of an 18-month project to upgrade its facilities by the group of volunteers that now runs the theatre. During that period the group has raised over $40,000 to improve the acoustics, purchase a new PA system, install an internal communications system, buy several new stage lights, replace the lighting control system and — finally — to give the audience something softer to sit upon! To celebrate the end of 18 months of hard work, there will be another Evening@Artworks, where a wide variety of entertainers bring their talents and expertise in to entertain all comers. Admission is free to all, and you're invited to bring a plate to share for supper. The doors and café will open at 6:30, with entertainment starting at 7:00. If you'd like to perform a song, dance, reading, mime, skit or whatever, please contact the Theatre on 372-2941 or [mailto:ArtworksTheatre@gmail.com ArtworksTheatre@gmail.com]. @ [[Artworks Theatre|Artworks Community Theatre]]
