Artworks Community Theatre (The Artworks Theatre Inc)
2 Korora Road, Oneroa, Waiheke Island
PO Box 117, Oneroa, Waiheke Island 1840
Msg: 372-2941 | Email: ArtworksTheatre@gmail.com

Artworks Community Theatre is not simply a performing arts theatre; it is a community-owned, volunteer-run, multi-purpose venue which is able to be claimed as "home" for a variety of Waiheke groups. The Snug is a relaxed and intimate venue with couches and comfortable seating for up to 20 people, and is ideal for poetry recitals, book clubs, study groups, club meetings, etc. The Auditorium (includes the stage) may be hired separately for larger group activities and performing arts, or may be hired along with the Snug for exclusive use.

The Theatre has a licensed Café and EFTPOS facilities available for special events.

We are bringing new energy and enthusiasm to the Theatre by creating a completely new administrative structure — where many hands will make light work — to ensure the brightest of futures for this wonderful community asset. The Incorporated Society has now been established and is accepting members. If you're into performing, children's theatre, lighting, direction/production, set design or construction, sound, front of house, administration, makeup and wardrobe, backstage, special effects, or providing that essential component of performing arts — the audience! — get in touch and we'll send you a membership form.

Visit our website at www.ArtworksTheatre.org.nz or, for enquiries about the Theatre, coming events, or to book tickets, email ArtworksTheatre@gmail.com or leave a message on 372-2941.

Regular Events:

  • Mondays 7:00-8:00pm from 09Feb until 30Mar: Feldenkrais classes with Judy Oliver. Feldenkrais is an educational system centered on movement, aiming to expand and refine the use of the self through awareness. It is intended for those who wish to improve their movement repertoire (dancers, musicians, artists), as well as those wishing to reduce pain or limitations in movement, and many who want to improve their general well-being and personal development. Because it uses movement as the primary vehicle for gaining awareness, it is directly applicable to disorders that arise from restricted or habitually poor movement. Contact Judy on 372-9780 or JudysMove@xtra.co.nz.
