* Sa17Oct 2:00pm: <b>'Mental Skills for Wellbeing'</b> is a free talk given by Jerome Hartigan, (Olympic athlete and sport psychologist). Living Waters Church, 92 The Esplanade, Surfdale (entrance next to Seaside Sanctuary). Everybody welcome. There will be an intermission with tea and biscuits provided. This is part of celebrations for Mental Health Awareness Week and is organised by Horizons, Waiheke's Peer Support Group, <b>Creatively and Lovingly Supporting Wellbeing</b>.

Recent events

31 September: Several ferries were cancelled between Waikeke and Auckland from 10 am in anticipation of a tsunami following an earthquake in Samoa. At one point passengers waiting at the Makiakia terminal were asked to leave the terminal and seek higher ground. No tsunami reached New Zealand, and normal service resumed at 2 pm.

Ongoing Events on Waiheke Island:

  • Tuesdays 7:00-9:15pm: Waiheke Choral Society rehearsing for a few December performances of Handel's full "Messiah". New voices welcome! @ Whittaker's Musical Experience
