Flying Carpet is a Waiheke charter vessel owned by the famous sailing family, the Rhodes. Skippered for some years by the conservation-minded Bernard Rhodes, the 11.5m catamaran was home to the family of four for four years. Bluewater sailing included a trip to Japan.
Flying Carpet has a twin-masted, stayless 'biplane' rig, built on traditional principles. She is licensed to carry 24 on a day trip or 9 overnight.
These days the boat is skippered by Bernard and Yachiyo's son Andrew Rhodes.
