Waiheke United is the island's soccer club, which has up to 200 members and is based at the Onetangi Sports Park.
While a soccer club has been active on the island for two decades, it was in 1989 that the Waiheke United AFC constitution was formalised.
Its current (2007) president is Peter Robins.
The club's major sponsor is Fullers Group Limited.
