The Waiheke Public Library is currently situated at Artworks, Oneroa. A proposal to move it to Ostend was rejected by Auckland City in September, 2007. Instead, the committee committed to developing the existing site, incorporating adjacent property bought from the Anglican Church.
It provides free internet access and books can be ordered from other Auckland City libraries.
