Onetangi Lawn Cemetery also known as Waiheke Cemetery is owned and maintained by the Auckland City Council it is one of only four operational and three historic cemeteries that the council administers and maintains.

Location: 80 (approx) Onetangi Road, Waiheke Island, Auckland 1081 - A short distance from Stony Ridge Quarry

The first burial took place in 1949 and the cemetery is still operational.

The cemetery provides burial plots in a single berm area; each plot measures 1.2 x 2.4 metres and may be dug extra depth to allow for a second burial. There is no pre-purchasing of plots and due to the small size of the cemetery a burial will take place in the next new plot available.

The cemetery currently has an area set aside for ash interments and baby burials. The next new plot available is used. No pre-purchasing of plots is available.

The cemetery also has Returned Services burial and ash interment areas.

A complete list of fees/charges related to burial here can be found at this adddress

Auckland City Council maintains and online database of people buried at this cemetery and others throughout the region, you can search it at this address.
