Artworks Community Theatre is not simply a performing arts theatre; it is a community-owned, volunteer-run, multi-purpose venue which is able to be claimed as "home" for a variety of Waiheke groups. The Snug is a relaxed and intimate venue with couches and comfortable seating for up to 20 people, and is ideal for poetry recitals, book clubs, study groups, club meetings, etc. The Auditorium (includes the stage) may be hired separately for larger group activities and performing arts, or may be hired along with the Snug for exclusive use.
The Theatre has a licensed Café and EFTPOS facilities available for special events.
We have brought new energy and enthusiasm to the Theatre with an incorporated society as the administrative structure so that many hands can make light work. This ensures the brightest of futures for our wonderful community asset. The Society has been operating the Theatre since 2008 and always welcomes new members. If you're into performing, children's theatre, lighting, direction/production, set design or construction, sound, front of house, administration, makeup and wardrobe, backstage, special effects, or providing that essential component of performing arts — the audience! — get in touch with your name, edress and phone number, and we'll add you as a Friend of Artworks Theatre. There is no subscription to join the Society, so feel free!
Visit our website at www.ArtworksTheatre.org.nz or, for enquiries about the Theatre, coming events, or to book tickets, email ArtworksTheatre@gmail.com or leave a message on 372-2941.

- Th08Jul - Sat10Jul: Raising the Titanics is a magical showpiece that journeys from the present day, back to the golden age of the Maori showband era to reveal what really sunk the Titanics - perhaps the greatest Maori show band never to have existed. Somewhere beneath the oceans of music, mirth and memory lies the truth. This is an homage to the Maori entertainers of our past, by bringing their stories of the showband era back to life for audiences young and old so that they can experience (or relive) such an important part of our Maori entertainment history. Raising the Titanics is the type of play that (like ‘Strange Resting Places’) will give us further insight to our past while being highly entertaining for all audiences. Embrace the feel-good positivity of this era and be reminded that the Maori had a great tradition of incredible entertainers that is still thriving today. Tickets $20. Book at the Theatre: 372-2941 or ArtworksTheatre@gmail.com
