Whittaker's Musical Experience, at Artworks, is a Waiheke institution. It is a museum of musical instruments, mostly pianos, set up by Lloyd and Joan Whittaker. Their private collection formed the basis of the collection, which includes Paderewski’s 1897 nine-foot Bechstein concert grand.
A trust was formed in 1997 to gradually take over the museum and allow Lloyd and Joan to retire.
