Involved in more wikis than I care to think about ...
I've been on this island for about 4 years now. I did a show on Beach Radio called Country Mike's Hauraki Hoedown on Monday nights from 8-10pm and I am very involved in broadcasting radio on the island. Check out the blog: http://waihekeradio.blogspot.com for more information on beach radio.
I've been working on wikis for a long time; I am currently on the Board of Advisors for a large wiki called WikiEducator that is working towards building capacity around the MediaWiki platform (the software that runs this site as well as Wikipedia) for developing Open Educational Resources. I designed part of the WikiEducator front page, community portal page, help page, and introductory -wiki tutorials. I also do a bit with the Wikiversity community, here: http://en.wikiversity.org/ a project sponsored by the Wikimedia foundation.
Earlier this year I attended the Techtonic Shift Think Tank in Vancouver, a meeting between MediaWiki developers and educators from all over the world to look at how to move the MediaWiki platform forward for the betterment of educators and students worldwide.
I also run http://auckland.wiki.org.nz a City Wiki for Auckland and http://greymatter.co.nz where I provide wiki and blog hosting, consultation and services around using technology for collaboration.
On the island i do design and consultation from here: http://www.digitalsynapse.co.nz where I have recently done work on the Emma Hughes Photography Blog, the Hey Dads web site, and helped out with the Jassy Dean Trust site.
These things are about communties, not web pages. Waihekepedia can be a platform for the community in ways that we're not anticipating at the moment, and I encourage people to get on board in any way that they feel they can - be bold, be experimental, and contribute your bit to a resource for all Wiahekians, present and future.
