The Waiheke Public Library is currently situated at Artworks in Oneroa.

A proposal to move it to Ostend was rejected by Auckland City in September, 2007. Instead, the Council committed to redeveloping the existing site, with the new library being built on the adjacent property bought from the Anglican Church.

There is a (free) storytelling program targeting pre-schoolers on Tuesdays at 10am.

There is also free internet access and books can be ordered ($1 charge) from other Auckland City libraries.
