- Mondays 7:00-8:00pm from 09Feb until 30Mar: Feldenkrais classes with Judy Oliver. Feldenkrais is an educational system centered on movement, aiming to expand and refine the use of the self through awareness. It is intended for those who wish to improve their movement repertoire (dancers, musicians, artists), as well as those wishing to reduce pain or limitations in movement, and many who want to improve their general well-being and personal development. Because it uses movement as the primary vehicle for gaining awareness, it is directly applicable to disorders that arise from restricted or habitually poor movement. - Sun 01 Mar: CAR FREE ESPLANADE DAY. Our strong campaign is to question why the esplanade should have over $1,000 000 spent two laneing it for cars but have no cycle facility goes on. Our idea is to close it to motor vehicles permanently. Please come/tell all your friends. Cyclists from Cycle Action Auckland are coming over too. The following is a rough programme - see Gulf News for more info. 10.30: opening ceremony, Blackpool end, followed by a procession with the "Brassy Beats" Samba and Saxaphone band 10.30-14.00: Pony rides, children's trailer rides, free bike hire, Market stalls, Tanya Batts story telling and much more! 13.00-18.00: Road still closed after the event to allow quiet informal use of the road without cars.
- Sun 01 Mar: National Children's Day and the Teddy Bears Picnic festivities are at the Palm Beach Playground Reserve starting at 3pm.
- Su01Mar 2-8pm: ASK Youth Fundraiser: Fundraising with food, drinks and entertainment to send Waiheke youths to a Youth Conference in Melbourne. Featuring clowns Nanita & Pichinoski at 2pm; Conga lessons at 3pm; "Shorty" Spanish singer at 3:30; Karaoke at 4pm; Salsa lessons at 5pm; ASK Band at 6pm; "Ember Days" at 6:45 onwards.
