The Waiheke Community Art Gallery is found at Artworks in Oneroa and is a showcase for art by both island and mainland artists. Its showpiece exhibition is the Waiheke Art Award which each year attracts entries from established and emerging artists from all over Aoteoaroa/New Zealand. Eligible entries must be two-dimensional artworks and the prize is $5000. Another major initiative from the small gallery is the bienniel Sculpture on the Gulf, which has rapidly become New Zealand's pre-eminent sculpture show.
