Ongoing Events on Waiheke Island:

  • Right Now! Waiheke Does It Better: Campaign to keep our waste resource managed on the island. "The tender for the management of our transfer station is currently open to bidders... and there is a real danger that the Auckland City Council - and in particular the City Development Committee - will vote for an Australian-owned company to manage our waste. If this happens, jobs will be lost and all our recycling will be transported - unsorted - off the island and added to the huge rubbish mountain accumulating in Auckland." If you want don't want this to happen, make your voice heard. Remember, all that’s needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. Do something today: grab the postcards or simply go to www.WaihekeDoesItBetter.org.nz and send emails instead.
  • Sundays 6-8pm: ASK Youth Church & Concert. For more information, see their website.

Upcoming Events on Waiheke Island:

May

  • Fr14May-Sa23May: Peter Pan production by the Waiheke Choral Society. Come to see flying children, irrational fairies, psychopathic pirates and a hyperactive, narcissistic, megalomaniacal perpetual child in action on the stage! Come to see Peter Pan! Watch as Captain Hook meets his sticky end in the maw of a ticking crocodile. Everything you ever dreamed it would be — it will touch your heart and chill your bones! Performances will take place from the 15th through the 24th of May, with evening shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm, and matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $15 concession, $10 children or $50 for a family. Tickets are available NOW from cast and crew, at Cut ‘n Curl hairdressers in Oneroa, or phone 372-1000 to book. @ Artworks Community Theatre
